I’m sorry–I’m not finished, yet, with my Champagne obsession, but I think sparkly, bubbly drinks are so synonymous with this time of year! Here are some fun drinks based on sparkling wines:
The Poinsettia
Pour 1/4 oz. Triple Sec & a splash of cranberry juice into a Champagne flute and fill with chilled Champagne. Add a lime twist & enjoy!
Sparkling Pear & Cranberry Cocktail
Soak 1/4 cup dried cranberries in warm water for 15 minutes. Drain & add 1/2 cup pear nectar & 32 oz. of Moscato d’Asti. Pour into 8 Champagne flutes. Place a cranberry on the end of each of 8 sprigs of fresh rosemary and add as a garnish.
Champagne Cocktail
Place a sugar cube in a Champagne flute & add just enough Angostura Bitters to moisten the sugar. Add a lemon twist & 6oz. of chilled Champagne.
In fact, it is fun to play around with different components to make your own cocktails. Try some of the following:
Flavors: raspberry, cherry, strawberry, pomegranate, cranberry, kiwi, lime, pear, peppermint, mint
Additions: red berries of all sorts, lime twists, slices of star fruit, frozen grapes, sorbet
Top off the glassware with colored sugars (now available in every color imaginable) or even crushed candy canes
Create swizzle sticks using candy canes or skewered fruits or berries
You may even want to get creative with the name of your cocktail–if you design it, you get to name it!
Happy holidays, everyone!
