Ah–February–the month of Love! Fortunately the Indiana Uplands Wine Trail folks have come up with some fun ways to celebrate this month with–what else–wine, food and chocolate!

It all begins this weekend and next with the Chocolate Lover’s Getaway. On February 9 & 10 and 16 & 17 all the participating wineries will pair up different chocolates with their wines. No reservations or tickets are required.

Oliver Winery’s downtown Bloomington tasting room will be serving a special menu on Valentine’s Day weekend, along with offering 25% off shipping rates through February 17.

Souper Saturday is scheduled for February 23rd, with Ertel Cellars Winery and Restaurant, Lanthier Winery, Madison Vineyards Estate Winery, The Ridge Winery, Stream Cliff Farm Winery and The Thomas Family Winery will be serving up samples of their soups paired with their wines. More information on this event can be found at www.indianawinetrail.com.

Oliver is hosting a Barrel Tasting Weekend on February 23-24, with 2 tours per day at 1PM and 3PM. The tours will lead groups through the whole winemaking process. The cost is $6 per person and is limited to 15 people per tour. Call 812-876-5800 to make reservations.

Oliver will be involved in some fundraising events in February–be sure to support these:

February 14–Evening of Art & Tango, IU Art Museum
February 17–The Souper Bowl, Hoosier Hills Food Bank, Bloomington Convention Center
February 22–Monroe County History Center Gala, Cook Incorporated
This event will have a “Wall of Wine” where, for a $10 donation, guests can choose a bottle of wine that may have a value of $100!

Lots of love to all our Hoosier Wine Cellar readers!
