There's a new look at the still-new Sahara Mart East on Third Street in Bloomington. It shows why Sahara Mart is willing to support our wine newsletter, because the look is all about an impressively wide selection of wines on its shelves. From the day it opened, the Sahara showcased wines, but two recently-appointed wine associates have made browsing the lengthy shelves easy and pleasurable and organized them as lovingly as any librarian has his or her books. Jean Briddell oversees the largest selection of organic wines in the Midwest and make it easy to locate wines by country and region – even by taste. No part of the world is overlooked, as bottlings from Asia, Africa, and the Near East are well represented. Whether you want a three-hundred dollar bottle of vintage champagne or a ten dollar bottle of chianti, Jean will attentively suggest how best to serve it and what to expect from it.
