Wines and outdoor grilling
With Allen Dale 'Ole' Olson
September 29, 2008

Outdoor grilling is considered a summer thing. But in Brown County, especially when the fall foliage begins to attract visitors from all over the place, outdoor grilling becomes a very special experience. Especially when it’s done on a grill constructed of natural Brown County stone, made by the chef who fires it up for his bison rib-eyes, pulled pork barbecue, steaks, and burgers.

Chef Rob’s grill is a masterpiece – he is a stone carver – and his mastery of the griller’s art is equal to his craftsmanship as a stone worker. Chef Rob’s grill abuts the patio at the Story Inn where it’s fired up every weekend and for special occasions. The Story Wine Cellar is equal to the meats and marinades and sauces and rubs that work their magic in flames of pine and oak and ash.

In the video we’ll pair Rob’s work with a Shiraz produced locally at Oliver Winery and with a Zinfandel from California. Innkeeper Rick Hofstetter will join Rob as we show grilled meat and robust meats at their best.
