With Allen Dale 'Ole' Olson
April 9, 2009
Be sure to watch the video at right featuring Dr. Allen Dale 'Ole' Olson and Rick Hofstetter, owner of The Story Inn, Story, IN: Ask about famous wine regions in America, and hardly anyone will mention Indiana. OK, so it’s not as famous as the Napa and Willamette Valleys or the Finger Lakes. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t produce fine wines. And it does. And we’re not talking about fine fruit-based wines, though Indiana blackberry, strawberry, cherry, blueberry, and other fruit wines are as fine as those made anywhere else; we’re talking about vinifera wines – wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Pinot Grigio. Wines like those. The video will help show you exactly what we’re talking about, as Rick Hofstetter, owner of the Story Inn, Indiana’s oldest bed and breakfast and home to the annual Indiana Wine Fair, and Hoosier Wine Cellar’s Ole Olson point out the virtues of Indiana Cabernet Sauvignon.
